STYLE and TREATMENT

Our show is perfomed in the style of a storytelling-monologue or "narrated theatre". Told through the eyes of one of the play's secondary characters, we hear about the circumstances  leading up to the famous court case, and then the dramatic events that unfold during and after the trial. In addition, the sole performer brings to life Shakespeare’s intriguing characters:  Shylock, Bassanio, Antonio, the Judge, Antonio’s lawyer, and more...

We then continue with  follow-up debate based on the show they have just seen  and on the classroom materials we send previously.

DURATION:  The performance lasts aprox. 45  minutes and a follow-up debate / activities of 10-15  minutes.

The Language:   As it is set in the present day, we have modernized the 16th century Shakespearian English, which makes comprehension easier.
