Our primary aim is to entertain your students with a sharp, funny and fast-moving script as well as providing them with a worthwhile language-learning experience.  In addition, we hope to introduce young audiences to the concept of parody and satire in theatre.

Banality Show takes a satirical look at a certain type of reality show, the likes of “Big Brother”,  featuring would-be celebrities who seek instant fame and fortune.  Our aim is to ridicule the contestants’ bad behaviour whilst highlighting positive values such as respect, generosity, the desire to learn and hard work.

Apart from entertaining our audiences, we also hope they will be motivated to discuss and think about the following themes:-

  • The superficial culture we live in behind this type of reality shows

  • The widespread desire to become famous

  • Fashion and appearance

  • Materialism and consumerism

  • Bullying and Peer Pressure

A free version of “A Midsummer Night's Dream” by William Shakespeare

"A Midsummer Night’s Dream", probably the Shakespeare’s best-known comedy, has been staged countless times since it premiered around 1595 and has inspired over twenty film and TV adaptations as well as four ballets and many musical compositions.  The play’s popularity is largely due to its unique combination of love, magic, and mischief, in addition to plenty of comic relief.  All these elements make it very attractive to adolescent audiences.

Our version focuses on the central storyline of the original play, that is the young nobles’ escapade in the magical wood where they fall victim to the magical powers of the fairies. We also feature the conflict between the King and Queen of Fairies, Oberon and Titania, and  the highly comical Bottom, a working class character who provides a lovely contrast to the nobles and the royal fairies.

Fairy tales are universal and have formed part of our childhood for many generations. Their diversity is enriching and they provide important moral codes that teach children about the duality of human nature, between good and evil, which we hope is reflected in our story.

Our young spectators will greatly enjoy the ingredients we have chosen for Fairy Tale Soup: Puss-in Boots, Prince Charming, The Wicked Queen, Little Red Riding Hood and the Big, Bad Wolf, all lovingly stirred by Layla, our little protagonist with whom the young children can accompany on her exciting journey.

Our tale includes music and a lots of interaction. It also offers a marvellous opportunity to learn English in a fun and exciting way.

Themes: We also highlight the importance of the following themes: FRIENDSHIP / RESPECTING  DIFFERENCES / KINDNESS /  TAKING CARE OF BOOKS

Bilingualism or 100% English – You Choose: In the bilingual option, English is the main language (around 80%) but as the spectators are very young, we include a little Spanish in the play to boost understanding. This allows us to create more interesting and diverse stories with a bigger variety of characters without leaving behind the youngest children.

100% English:  Nonetheless, teachers can also choose to see the play TOTALLY in English. It is important to highlight that option when you make a booking.
